At CrowdSouth we will be celebrating 10 years as a company in August. It is hard to believe it has been 10 years since Jason and I got together to start a small marketing agency in Bowling Green, KY.
Jason and I worked and traveled together for 8 years while at Camping World (or the company that owned Camping World at the time, Affinity Group). We spent that time thinking through and starting other businesses and ways to do our own thing. Jason, who is much much much older than me, left the company a few years before me and started consulting and travel writing. I left a few years later and went to a new company that gave me the chance to work from home. 12 years ago that idea was radical and I was thrilled to have that opportunity. After 2 years and my first child, even though it was a different environment and working from home, I still felt the need to do something for myself. So I spoke with my wife and decided we had saved up some money and I was just going to take a year and figure my life out. I quit the work from home job in May 2013 with the idea I wouldn’t work again for at least a year. By Aug 2013 Jason had convinced me to join forces to create a new marketing agency.
We have thought through different ways of celebrating this milestone. We have gone back and forth on many ideas but one thing we knew for certain was that we wanted to celebrate our teammates and the enormous impact they have on CrowdSouth. We decided that a small way to celebrate the team and what was important to them was through donations to organizations that are meaningful to them. We called on the team at our Q1 2023 meeting to start thinking about organizations local and national that they would like CrowdSouth to donate $1000 to. So far we have donated $1000 to each of these organizations.
Ronald McDonald House Nashville – “The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville is to keep families close by providing essential resources and a “home-away-from-home” for families of critically ill children receiving inpatient or outpatient medical care at Nashville area hospitals.”
Hope Center Ministries Memphis – ” Hope Center Ministries exists to lead addicts and their families to become fully devoted followers of Christ ”
Stray Animal Adoption Program – ” Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that exists to rescue, protect, and provide care for at risk pets. We promote lifelong adoptions while focusing on spay/neuter and the education of animal welfare.”
Over the next 12 months we will highlight on our social media some of the team members and the organizations they chose and hear about why it is important to them.
